Fiat Ulysse
The Fiat Ulysse is a compact minivan that marked European automotive history by democratizing access to a spacious and versatile family car since its launch in 1994. Developed in partnership with Chrysler and Lancia, the Fiat Ulysse model experienced two major generations, the first extending until 2000 before a major overhaul that carried the vehicle through 2011, then a final evolution until its market withdrawal in 2017. This compact minivan established itself as a direct rival to the Renault Espace and Peugeot 806, offering an excellent ratio of interior space to external footprint thanks to its platform derived from the Fiat Punto. The Fiat Ulysse story is characterized by several generations with substantial improvements: the first generation introduced the innovation of sliding doors and pioneering interior modularity, while subsequent evolutions reinforced safety, ergonomics, and gasoline and diesel engines to meet growing family expectations. The Fiat Ulysse generations benefited from notable aesthetic improvements, particularly a less angular design and a rejuvenated front face in the second generation to better compete with its rivals. Despite a less prominent presence than certain premium positioning, the Fiat Ulysse technical sheet combined several strengths: exemplary modularity, controlled fuel consumption, and democratic access to the minivan category, which explains its success with fleets and families seeking practicality.
