Born during a full strategic transformation of the manufacturer, this lineage experienced two distinct generations, from 2009 to 2016 for the first and from 2016 to 2020 for the second, each refining the positioning of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe model as a direct competitor to affordable sports coupes from established brands such as the Hyundai Tiburon itself or the Toyota 86. The evolving design of the Genesis Coupe gradually adopted a more race-oriented and assertive styling language, shifting from an elegant silhouette to a resolutely aggressive presentation, while the Hyundai Genesis Coupe generations benefited from continuous improvements in terms of turbo engines, handling and technological equipment.
