Jaguar is a British automobile manufacturer founded in 1922 by William Lyons under the name Swallow Sidecar Company, before becoming Jaguar Cars Limited in 1945, thus establishing Jaguar's history as one of the most prestigious in European automotive. Specializing in luxury and sports vehicles, the brand marked the 1950s through 1970s with iconic models such as the XK 120 (1948), the Type E (1961), and the XJ (1968), positioning Jaguar against rivals such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Mercedes-Benz in the premium segment. The Jaguar lineup progressively diversified, covering prestige sedans, sports coupes, and luxury SUVs starting in 2015 with the F-PACE, while maintaining a historic manufacturing plant at Castle Bromwich in Birmingham, the heart of British production. Acquired by Tata Motors in 2008, the Jaguar manufacturer experienced strategic revitalization including the creation of an electric range and modernization of the XE, XF, and F-TYPE models, thus expanding its offering in the global luxury automotive market.
