Kaiser-Frazer is an American automobile manufacturer founded in 1945 by Henry J. Kaiser and Joseph W. Frazer, two visionary industrialists who marked automotive history from 1945 to 1955. This iconic brand revolutionized the industry by offering modern and accessible vehicles, positioning its Kaiser-Frazer models in direct competition with giants General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler on the American market. The Kaiser-Frazer range covered several segments: from family sedans to sports coupes, including utilities, with iconic models such as the Kaiser Special (1947-1952), Frazer Standard, and Henry J (1951-1954), the latter representing a revolutionary compact vehicle for its time. Main production facilities were based in Willow Run, Michigan, where the plant, formerly dedicated to aerospace manufacturing during World War II, was repurposed for automobile production, manufacturing thousands of vehicles annually until the late 1950s. Although Kaiser-Frazer technical specifications presented notable innovations such as high-performance engines and avant-garde designs signed by Dutch Darrin, the brand gradually declined facing the dominance of the three major manufacturers and financial difficulties, ceasing automobile production activities in 1955, after approximately 750,000 vehicles manufactured in total.
