Peugeot 407 Phase 2 2008 - 2011
The Peugeot 407 is a D-segment sedan that marked Peugeot's history through its modern design and road qualities, embodying French expertise in premium family automobiles. Launched in 2003, this sedan experienced two main generations that dominated the European market against competitors such as the Volkswagen Passat and Opel Vectra, thanks to its generous proportions, cabin comfort and reliable engines. The Peugeot 407 generations succeeded one another with striking stylistic evolutions: the first generation (2003-2010) featured clean lines signed by Pininfarina with distinctive headlights and a spacious interior, while the second (2010-2015) benefited from a restyling asserting a more dynamic visual presence and the integration of more advanced onboard technologies. The Peugeot 407 model gradually gave way to the 508, marking the transition toward a new nomenclature at the Lyon-based manufacturer, but the 407 remains sought-after on the used car market for its mechanical reliability and good equipment-to-price ratio. Available in sedan and estate (407 SW) body styles, with a choice of diesel and petrol engines, the 407 offered a credible alternative to German sedans while preserving the stylistic identity and comfort typical of France, consolidating the manufacturer's premium positioning in the family sedan segment.
