RAM, a historic brand founded in 1981 as a Chrysler Corporation division in the United States, established itself as the undisputed leader in the pickup truck segment in the United States and North America, with sales exceeding one million units annually at its peak. RAM's history dates back to the takeover of the Dodge pickup line in 1993, a transformation that gave birth to an independent brand which became a Stellantis subsidiary since 2021, heir to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. RAM models cover a diversified portfolio comprising the RAM 1500 pickup (generations 2009 to 2025), the RAM 2500 and 3500 for the heavy-duty segment, as well as the RAM ProMaster for the light commercial vehicle segment, positioning the RAM manufacturer in direct competition with Ford (F-150, Super Duty) and Chevrolet (Silverado).
