Tata Harrier Phase 1 2018 - 2023
The Tata Harrier is a five-seat compact SUV launched in 2019 by Indian manufacturer Tata Motors, positioned as the direct rival to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the rapidly expanding Asian market. Since its introduction, the Tata Harrier story fits into the group's strategy of offering accessible versatile vehicles, combining modern design, habitability and efficient powertrains adapted to Indian and regional roads. The Tata Harrier model is based on the internally developed OMEGA platform, a modular architecture allowing various configurations and demonstrating the manufacturer's technical autonomy in the compact SUV segment. The Tata Harrier generations experienced progressive evolution with the introduction in 2023 of a second generation, refining aerodynamics, strengthening technological equipment and offering a more powerful 2.0-liter diesel engine alongside the existing gasoline powertrain. Marketed exclusively in Indian and South Asian markets, the Harrier does not currently benefit from global distribution, positioning Tata Motors as a major player in the locally affordable-premium segment against higher-prestige competitors. The Tata Harrier technical specifications display generous dimensions for a compact SUV (4.6 meters long), a trunk capacity of approximately 400 liters and controlled fuel consumption, elements that form its appeal to urban and peri-urban families seeking practicality without compromise on style and reliability.
