Volvo
Volvo, founded in 1927 in Sweden, is a historic automobile manufacturer born from the association between Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larson, establishing its first factory in Gothenburg and quickly becoming one of the pioneers of the Nordic automotive industry. Volvo's history is characterized by a philosophy of innovation centered on safety, materialized as early as 1959 by the invention of the three-point safety belt, patented and generously shared with the entire automotive industry. Since 1953, a symbolic date in our archives, Volvo has progressively expanded its range from elegant sedans like the PV444 and Amazon to modern SUVs, passing through minivans, estate cars and electric vehicles, thus covering the premium and affordable segments of the market. With iconic models such as the XC90 launched in 2002, the S90, the XC60 and more recently the electric Polestar range from its performance subsidiary created in 2017, Volvo competes directly with European brands like BMW and Audi in the premium segment. The Volvo group operates major production sites in Sweden, Belgium and China, while maintaining a global presence with a Volvo specification sheet characterized by diesel, petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains meeting the strictest environmental standards. Since its acquisition by Geely in 2010, the Swedish manufacturer has strengthened its investments in electrification and autonomy, marking a new era of technological transformation through 2025.
