Acura RL

The Acura RL has embodied since 1996 the pinnacle of luxury and performance in the Japanese prestige sedan universe, representing the premium vision of the Honda luxury brand. Launched in 1996, the Acura RL story spans five distinct generations, from the initial first-generation model to radical evolutions of the millennium, each pushing the boundaries of design and embedded technology. The Acura RL model progressively established itself as a direct competitor to premium German sedans such as the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, thanks to precise architecture, a reliable V6 engine, and richly equipped interior. The Acura RL generations experienced major styling transformations, notably through the 2009 restyling which displayed an aggressive front end and refined lines, while later versions systematically integrated the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) transmission, the brand's technological signature. Positioned within the intermediate luxury sedan segment, this sedan displays advanced technical characteristics: atmospheric or turbo V6 engines depending on generations, 5 or 6-speed automatic transmissions, advanced comfort and safety equipment including embedded navigation and modern assisted driving systems. Although discontinued in North America since 2012, the Acura RL technical sheet continues to interest luxury sedan enthusiasts, who appreciate the value-for-money of this Japanese alternative to European behemoths, embodying a philosophy of quiet performance and proven reliability.
