Cupra
Founded in 1998 as Seat's sports division, Cupra established itself as an independent automotive brand from 2018, based in Spain and specializing in high-performance and electrified vehicles. Cupra's history begins with the desire to create accessible sports cars, leveraging the technical expertise of the Volkswagen group to which the brand belongs. From 2018 to 2024, Cupra manufacturer considerably expanded its Cupra range by deploying iconic models such as the sporty Ateca, the compact performance Leon and the Formentor, a coupe SUV launched in 2020 that embodies the brand's philosophy. In 2021, Cupra marked a strategic turning point by integrating the Tavascan, an electric prototype announcing progressive electrification of its range, with a first production version since 2024. The Cupra specification sheet is characterized by turbocharged petrol engines and rechargeable hybrids, refined chassis and muscular designs, positioning the brand directly against rivals such as Renault Sport (Megane RS) and Alfa Romeo in the sports coupes and dynamic SUV segment. With approximately 200,000 vehicles sold since its relaunch, Cupra aims to become a premium electric brand by 2030, consolidating its European presence and expanding sales beyond its traditional markets.
