Mazda

Mazda was founded in 1920 in Japan under the name Toyo Kogyo before adopting its current name in 1963, marking the beginning of an automobile adventure spanning over 60 years centered on innovation and driving pleasure. Mazda's history is distinguished by its unique philosophy of the Wankel rotary engine, commercialized as early as 1967 with the Cosmos, and by the development of the mythical Mazda RX-7 launched in 1978, which consolidated the Mazda manufacturer's reputation among worldwide enthusiasts. Present in the segments of small city cars (Mazda2), compact cars (Mazda3), sedans (Mazda6) and SUVs (CX-5, CX-30, MX-30), the Japanese group manufactures its vehicles at several strategic sites in Japan, Thailand and Mexico, with annual production capacity exceeding 1.3 million vehicles. Facing giants like Toyota and Honda, Mazda has managed to preserve its identity by focusing on high-performance gasoline engines and, since 2020, on the progressive electrification of its Mazda range with the launch of the electric MX-30 and hybrids. Mazda models are characterized by their balanced technical specifications, combining energy efficiency, advanced safety and refined design, which allows it to maintain approximately 1.3% of global automotive market share and remain an influential player in the automobile industry for over six decades.
