Proton Inspira

The Proton Inspira is a compact Malaysian MPV launched in 2006, designed to rival the best-selling family vehicles in the Asian versatile vehicle segment. This historic Proton Inspira model marked the brand's positioning in the accessible MPV universe, before being progressively replaced by more modern models like the Proton Exora. The first generation's design, inspired by Mitsubishi collaboration, relied on an efficient platform featuring a spacious interior capable of accommodating up to seven passengers, with a modular layout adapted to large families. Proton Inspira history fits into a strategy of democratizing premium MPVs in Southeast Asia, against rivals like the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia that already dominated the market. Throughout Proton Inspira generations, the manufacturer progressively improved interior finish, energy efficiency, and safety, with the introduction of more modern petrol engines and the addition of comfort equipment to meet growing customer expectations. Although the model is no longer in the official European catalog, the Proton Inspira specification sheet maintains a good reputation in the used market in Asian countries, where its mechanical reliability and value-for-money make it still a segment reference for multipurpose families.
